Earthquake

On May 12th, an earthquake labeled 8.0 on the Richter scale hit the Wenchuan area in the Sichuan province, China. This earthquake killed over 57,000 people, including thousands of students, injured about 220,000 citizens, and destroyed tens of thousands of buildings, many of which were schools. The total damage this earthquake has caused has been enormous; this natural catastrophe has been "China's worst natural disasters in decades."
